Forlagsbeskrivelse af Mikkeller (UK) af Anders Ryehauge
Thanks to its delicious specialty in beers and singular labels, the Danish brewery Mikkeller has reached palates all over the world.
Denmark has a long and proud tradition of brewing beer. This book about Mikkeller adds a new chapter to the history of Danish beer-brewing by telling the story of an authentic brand that has placed Denmark at the top of specialty beer production in the world.
It all began in 2003, in a home kitchen in Copenhagen’s Vesterbro neighborhood, where school teacher Mikkel Bjergsø and a friend started experimenting with hops, malt, and yeast. Today, Mikkeller is a multi-million-dollar enterprise selling beer to 50 different countries worldwide.
This book provides a sweeping retrospective on the first two decades of the brewery’s diverse history. As the book unfolds, readers discover the entire story of Mikkeller’s journey from microbrewery to world-renowned brand. After many years of steady growth, the company stands on the threshold of a new era – one offering both new opportunities and new challenges.
Since the spring of 2021, author and journalist Anders Ryehauge has followed Mikkel Bjergsø – at the company’s headquarters in Copenhagen, around Denmark, and abroad. Anders Ryehauge has written profiles, news coverage, and feature stories for a number of leading Danish magazines.
